MADISON, Wis. — Today, the Wisconsin State Supreme Court handed down their decision to uphold  Racine’s 2020 school referendum as passed by Racine voters. Assembly Democratic Leader Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) released the following statement in response:

“After engaging in this effort from the beginning, I am thrilled the Wisconsin Supreme Court has ruled in favor of our public schools. This referendum will provide necessary resources and support students to succeed. The biggest winners are the future generations of students who will benefit from the updates and improvements this referendum will fund.

“Finally, our community will be on track to finance the construction of new schools, prioritize modernization and major renovations, enhance our safety and security measures, and upgrade our district’s technology.

“The implications of the voters’ decision and the Supreme Court’s opinion will be felt for decades to come. I’m excited to see what the future holds for our schools!”
