MADISON – After the conclusion of Michael Gableman’s deceptive presentation to the Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections, Assembly Democratic Leader Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) released the following statement:
“Michael Gableman embarrassed himself and his legislative Republican handlers in front of the people of Wisconsin today. Before the Assembly Committee on Campaigns and Elections, Gableman gave a presentation filled to the brim with inaccurate information and unconstitutional guidance. It’s clear that this sham investigation, which has been riddled with blunders from the beginning, has completely abandoned reality.
“It is deeply disturbing that Gableman continues to assert that the legislature should pursue ‘de-certifying’ the 2020 election. Time and time again, legal experts have confirmed that there is no legal process by which to do this. Even Robin Vos, who authorized this boondoggle, has confirmed that there is no way for the legislature to recall Wisconsin’s electors. Why are we wasting hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars for a disgraced former justice to peddle lies and advocate for unconstitutional actions?
“We can’t trust Michael Gableman, and today’s deceitful presentation makes that clear. It is far past time for Speaker Vos to end this fraudulent investigation.”
