MADISON – Today, Assembly Democratic Leader-Elect Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) announced Representative Beth Meyers (D-Bayfield) will be appointed to serve on the Legislature’s powerful Joint Committee on Finance (JFC) for the remainder of the legislative session. Representative Neubauer released the following statement:

“I am pleased to announce that Representative Beth Meyers will serve on the Joint Committee on Finance for the remainder of the 2021-22 legislative term. Since taking office in 2015, Beth has proven herself as a hard-working, capable legislator and a strong advocate for the values and priorities of Wisconsin’s working families. As a born-and-raised northern Wisconsinite with a lifetime of service, including non-profit leadership and local government experience, she will bring a much-needed perspective to the JFC.

“In her tenure in the legislature, Representative Meyers has continually demonstrated her resolve, courage, and leadership while crafting policies that have earned bipartisan support, including important legislation from the Speaker’s Task Force on Suicide Prevention. I am confident that in this new role, she will be an invaluable voice on the committee, and will represent our caucus well.”

Representative Meyers joins ranking Democratic member Representative Evan Goyke (D-Milwaukee) on the Joint Committee on Finance to fill the vacancy created as Representative Neubauer takes office as Assembly Democratic Leader.
