MADISON – Rep. Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) released the following statement on Tommy Thompson’s resignation as interim President of the University of Wisconsin System:
“President Tommy Thompson led the University of Wisconsin System through the last eighteen months of the COVID-19 pandemic, steering the ship with a steady hand through a rapidly changing landscape. The University of Wisconsin System is one of our state’s greatest assets, providing our students with a world-class education and prioritizing innovation for the benefit of Wisconsin as a whole. President Thompson has been a steadfast champion for the Wisconsin Idea, and I am very grateful for his work strengthening the relationship between the legislature and the UW System.
“Thank you, President Thompson, for your tireless service and advocacy for one of Wisconsin’s greatest assets through this challenging time.”
