Pewaukee – Today State Representative Adam Neylon (R-Pewaukee) issued the following statement in support of the Assembly unanimously passing Assembly Joint Resolution 109, the bi-partisan resolution he authored with Representatives Scott Allen, Cindi Duchow and Senator Chris Kapenga, to honor the Waukesha Parade Victims:

The brutal attack at the Waukesha Christmas Parade was an incomprehensible tragedy. Our community is still grieving and trying to make sense of this senseless act. However we refuse to be defined by this tragedy. If anything, what defines us is the community response. From the police, fire and EMS personnel that rushed to the scene, to the bystanders that stepped up to help save lives. From the millions of dollars that were raised to support the victims of the tragedy, to the neighbors helping neighbors and stepping up to shovel driveways and support service projects to help the victims.

While the attack showed the depths to which a person can sink, the aftermath showed us the heights to which people can reach. That is what will define us. Waukesha Strong.

With this resolution, we pay tribute to the victims of the Waukesha Christmas Parade attack and their families. We honor the actions of the first responders, the police, the firefighters and emergency service personnel that answered the call when they were needed most. I’ve never been more proud to be part of this amazing community.
