MADISON- State Representative Timothy Ramthun (R-Campbellsport) issued the following statement in response to Michael Gableman’s report:

“Yesterday, Special Counsel to the Assembly, Michael Gableman, gave a presentation before the Assembly Campaigns and Elections Committee summarizing the discrepancies and illegalities my office has highlighted months ago about the November 2020 election.”

“The Wisconsin Constitution is clear when it says in Article 1, Section 4, ‘the power to prescribe the manner of conducting elections is clearly within the province of the legislature’ and that we as the legislative body have plenary power to conduct and in this case, a dutiful obligation to remedy any illegalities that took place during an electoral process. Justice Gableman concurs, saying in his presentation, ‘At this point, I believe the legislature ought to take a very hard look at the option of decertification of the 2020 Wisconsin presidential election.’”

“If the evidence of Lt. Luell’s nursing home investigation, the Supreme Court’s decision against the Wisconsin Elections Commission’s order allowing voting ‘contrary to the statute’ as indefinitely confined, and the promulgation of the use of  8.8 million dollars of illegal grants poured into primarily Democrat areas goes unredeemed, then our Constitution is rendered an irrelevant relic. We have an obligatory duty to our constituents to uphold our sacred oaths to the Wisconsin Constitution to reclaim our ten electoral votes through decertification.”

“Restoration of confidence in our elections is the goal. I again call upon the Assembly Committee on Rules Chairman, Rep. Steineke, to hold the much needed and overdue hearing on AJR120. The solution is closure on any constitutional question and Rep. Steineke alone can make that difference. I also seek the restoration of my full-time staff requisition so that the 59th Assembly district can be served as all other Assembly districts are.”

“Thank you Justice Gableman for your dedication and hard work on behalf of Wisconsin and our great nation.”
