MADISON – Assembly Majority Leader Jim Steineke (R-Kaukauna) released the following statements after state Representative Mike Kuglitsch (R-New Berlin) announced today that he will not seek reelection to the state Assembly in 2022:

“Representative Kuglitsch and I came into the Assembly as freshmen legislators together. Coming from the private sector, Mike was always aware of the impacts government had on businesses and families, which made him a responsible steward of tax-payer dollars.

“As chairman of the Assembly Committee on Energy and Utilities, Mike was able to master a complicated and nuanced policy area. His knowledge was invaluable to the caucus and is something we relied heavily on.

“I wish Mike the best in his retirement and hope he can spend more time with his family. He has been a great leader for Wisconsin, and I am sure he will continue to fight for and serve his community for years to come.”
