MADISON, WI – On August 25th and 26th, Representative Shelia Stubbs attended the Hunt Institute’s 2022 Early Childhood Leadership Summit in Phoenix, Arizona to learn more about innovative childhood development research that could inform public policies. After attending this institute, Representative Stubbs (D-Madison) released the following statement:
“When it comes to improving education, early childhood is the most critical window to ensure lifetime success. Over ninety percent of brain development occurs before a child enters kindergarten. As we strive to improve educational outcomes we must target early childhood and pre-kindergarten learning. The earlier we provide children with robust and valuable education the more we expand their lifelong potential.”
“Giving our children more opportunities than we had ourselves is one of our most important responsibilities. Ensuring every family has access to childcare, every child receives an effective education, and every parent has the ability to support their child is how we honor that responsibility. It is our duty to work tirelessly to make Wisconsin a place worthy of our children.”
