Madison- State Representative Tyler Vorpagel (R-Plymouth) issued the following regarding his decision to not seek re-election.
“Today I am announcing that I will not be running for reelection to the State Assembly. It has been an honor and a truly humbling experience to have earned the trust and support of my friends and neighbors and represent my hometown in the State Legislature these past 7 plus years. Early after my first election I was told by a very wise person that ‘this isn’t a life sentence’ and for me it is time to move on with the next chapter of my life.
I would especially like to thank my family who have been so supportive, including my wife Jenny who walked door to door with me every day in my first campaign and has been so supportive to allow me to put everything into my job as a state representative and my parents who helped me knock on doors and help in parades, and all of my capitol staff who so professionally helped constituents who reached out to my office looking for help or answers.
I am proud that during my time in office I was able to focus on legislation to solve issues that faced Manitowoc and Sheboygan Counties, and to advance budgets and policies that made appropriate investments in key pieces of our infrastructure, empower the legislative branch, make significant tax reforms letting people keep more of their money, and make Wisconsin a better place to live and work.
I have had the privilege of meeting, getting to work with, and have made lifelong friendships with Republicans, Democrats (and yes even Senators) who are some of the best, smartest, and most hardworking people who are so passionate about the State of Wisconsin.”
Representative Tyler Vorpagel (R-Plymouth) serves the 27th Assembly District which includes Kiel, Cleveland, Elkhart Lake, Howards Grove, Plymouth, Kohler, and Sheboygan.
