“It’s not often the author of Legislation says “thank you” when the other house amends their bill, but I want to give a heartfelt “thank you” to Speaker Robin Vos and the Wisconsin Assembly for amending and passing Senate Bill 520, which funds a replacement for troubled Lincoln Hills School. The Assembly made the bill better, without question.

“I also want to thank former Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch for continuing to lead on this important issue in spite of the utter failure of Governor Tony Evers. Her strength in urging Robin and the Assembly to continue to lead the way in spite of Evers’ failure helped the bill pass the Assembly.

“Wisconsin crime victims and citizens around the state deserve safer neighborhoods. Governor Evers has failed in this common sense goal.  This bill is an important first step to stopping juvenile crime.  I look forward to the Senate concurring in the Assembly Amendment when the Senate meets in March.”
