Madison, WI — Yesterday, Representative Lisa Subeck (D-Madison) was selected unanimously by her fellow members of the Wisconsin Assembly Democratic Caucus to remain Caucus Chair. Also elected unanimously were Minority Leader Greta Neubauer (D-Racine), Assistant Leader Kalan Haywood (D-Milwaukee), Vice-Chair Jill Billings (D-La Crosse), Secretary Kristina Shelton (D-Green Bay), and Sergeant-At-Arms Lee Snodgrass (D-Appleton). Representative Subeck released the following statement following her re-election:

“It is truly an honor that this caucus has placed its trust in me to help steer the ship in this critical moment in Wisconsin’s history. The Assembly Democratic Caucus is the final backstop to protect Governor Evers’ veto, reproductive rights, and democracy itself in Wisconsin. Given the talent, grit, and diversity we have on this team, I could not be more confident that we will deliver for the people of Wisconsin.

We are facing extremist Republican opposition that has gerrymandered itself into a supermajority in the Senate and a powerful majority in the Assembly despite the voters decisively choosing a Democratic governor. The stakes are high, but this is exactly the team the people of Wisconsin need to meet this moment.”

Representative Lisa Subeck has represented the 78th Assembly District since 2015.
