[Milwaukee, WI] – Today the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisor voted 12-2 to pass an amended resolution for abortion care. Reproductive Justice Action – Milwaukee (RJA-M) calls on County Executive David Crowley to sign this resolution and send it to Madison to join Dane County’s resolution for abortion rights. A poll completed by Marquette University in July 2022 shows that 60% of Americans support abortion rights in all or most cases. This resolution in conjunction with other county’s resolutions communicates to the State Legislature and State Supreme Court that Wisconsinsites want legal and safe abortion.

Since July 2022, RJA-M has been petitioning the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors and demanding that all county supervisors draft a resolution for legal and safe abortion in Milwaukee County. Our petition also demands that law enforcement within Milwaukee County shall refuse to apprehend any provider for performing abortion care, and that the District Attorney’s office will dismiss all charges against any provider who performs abortion services.

While this is a step in the right direction to getting our 1849 law overturned in the State of Wisconsin, there is a lot of work that still needs to be done. We invite anyone interested in joining the fight for Reproductive Justice to join our organization today.

Reproductive Justice Action – Milwaukee (RJA-M) is a brand new grassroots organization in Milwaukee focused on fighting for Reproductive Justice for all humans. We stand in opposition of the system(s) that deny human rights to any person regardless of gender, race, or sexual orientation.
