[Madison, WI] – New York trust fund baby Alex Lasry’s China problem has progressed to disastrous levels. Last month, Empower Wisconsin reported on Lasry’s extensive China ties that extend even beyond his NBA involvement – including potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars of investments in Chinese companies. Now, reports show that Lasry received a max-out $2,900 contribution from Golden State Warriors minority owner Chamath Palihapitiya, who has come under fire for coldly commenting that “nobody cares” about China’s atrocious human rights abuses against the Uyghurs.

Palihapitiya’s contribution should have the sign-off from Lasry’s billionaire daddy, who has been China’s biggest cheerleader, but it won’t be rewarded by Wisconsin voters, who want a Senator who will stand up to China and defend American interests abroad.

“New York trust fund baby Alex Lasry’s expensive Chinese ties make his talk especially cheap,” said Republican Party of Wisconsin Communications Director Anna Kelly. “Lasry’s inexperience beyond trotting after daddy already disqualified him for the U.S. Senate – but his Chinese allegiances make him dangerous.”
