MADISON, WI — Barbara Lawton, former lieutenant governor of Wisconsin, today endorsed Alexia Sabor, who is running for Wisconsin secretary of state. Lawton was Wisconsin’s 43rd lieutenant governor, serving with Governor Jim Doyle from 2003-2011.

“I was impressed when I met Alexia Sabor nearly 20 years ago; today I have the honor to endorse her for secretary of state,” said Lawton. “This focused and fearless woman will provide energetic leadership and a fresh vision for this constitutional office that can be critical to our democracy, and new strength on the ballot this fall.”

“I’m proud to have former Lt. Governor Lawton’s endorsement,” said Sabor. “I have tremendous respect for her accomplishments and the way she has continuously fought for campaign reform to get big money out of politics. We must fight for our democracy on all fronts or we will lose it.”
