MARSHFIELD – Lisa Boero has been named Security Health Plan’s chief legal and compliance officer. Boero has worked for Security Health Plan since 2009, and with Marshfield Clinic Health System since 2007, in steadily advancing roles in Legal Services and Compliance. She was named Security Health Plan’s chief legal officer in January of 2015 and has served as Security Health Plan’s interim chief compliance officer since May 2021.

“Lisa understands what’s needed from a legal and compliance perspective in order for Security Health Plan to navigate our highly regulated environment. She has led our effort to improve our corporate compliance plan, implementing new processes and procedures. This promotion acknowledges her skilled leadership of all of our compliance functions,” said Security Health Plan CEO Krista Hoglund.

Boero has 20 years of experience and a strong background in corporate health law, subrogation, litigation, contract law, immigration, and compliance and privacy regulation. Her experience includes acting as Security Health Plan’s general counsel and Marshfield Clinic Health System counsel for immigration and other matters, directing Security’s Compliance and Legal Departments, including oversight of all Security Health Plan legal and compliance processes. Boero provides legal, risk management and compliance guidance to Security Health Plan’s Board of Directors, Marshfield Clinic Health System Audit and Compliance Committee and Security Health Plan leadership related to business initiatives and legal and functional compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations.

Lisa holds a juris doctorate, Order of the Coif, degree from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. She holds a bachelor of arts degree, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, in history and Spanish, also from Washington University. She is licensed to practice in Missouri, Illinois and Wisconsin and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, American Health Lawyers Association, National Association of Subrogation Professionals, the Forbes Nonprofit Council, the Women Business Leaders of the U.S. Health Care Industry Foundation and the Association for Women Lawyers (Wisconsin).

In her free time, Lisa is also a novelist with seven books currently available on Amazon.
