Madison, WI – Today, Senator Janis Ringhand (D-Evansville) announced she would not seek reelection in 2022 for her State Senate seat. Senator Melissa Agard (D-Madison) released the following statement regarding Ringhand’s announcement:
“Senator Ringhand has been a wonderful leader and colleague in the State Senate. She has always been dedicated to her constituency and working for the interests of all Wisconsinites. In my freshman term in the Assembly, Janis was my seatmate and a great mentor.
“It has truly been a pleasure to serve with Senator Ringhand, in both the Senate and Assembly, and our caucus will miss working with her dearly. Her sincerity and kindness has always had a positive impact on anyone that knows her, and Wisconsin is better for her dedication to local control and working people.
“I wish Janis all the best in her retirement and future endeavors.”
