Madison… Senator Joan Ballweg (R-Markesan) and Representative Alex Dallman’s (R-Green Lake) bill, which extends Tax Incremental District 3 (TIDs) in the City of Wisconsin Dells, was signed into law as 2021 Wisconsin Act 142. This TID will provide incentives for eligible developments including upgrading road networks, extending electric and gas utilities and more.

“This is great news for the City of Wisconsin Dells,” said Ballweg. “This allows shovel-ready projects to move forward and keep the Dells a top tourist destination for years to come.”

This specific piece of legislation will help the City of Wisconsin Dells continue to attract private sector development. A similar piece of legislation was passed last session for the Village of Lake Delton, which provides a major economic impact to the Wisconsin Dells area as well. The overall Wisconsin Dells tourism economy contributes $35.7 million in state taxes and $8.9 million in local premier resort tax revenue each year. It is vital that we continue to support the City of Wisconsin Dells, which plays a key role in our local and state economies.
