(Madison)…. Senator Kathy Bernier (R-Chippewa Falls) released the following statement after Governor Tony Evers’s 2022 State of the State Address:

“A Governor who has stood in the way of the state’s priorities like addressing crime, inflation, business closures, and election security stood in front of a Republican-controlled legislature and shamelessly took credit for the tax cuts and other politically popular reforms that Republicans pushed through despite his obstruction. He has been too busy sprinkling federal dollars around the state, rewarding his political allies and leaving the rest of the state high and dry. Don’t let the Governor re-write history. He proposed a $1 billion tax cut and is sitting on nearly $2 billion in federal aid that he refuses to help taxpayers with unless he think it will help his re-election. That’s who he is.”
