WASHINGTON— On Tuesday, U.S. Senator Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), ranking member of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Europe and Regional Security Cooperation, voted in favor of committee passage of the resolution of advice and consent to ratification of the NATO accession protocols for Sweden and Finland. The accession protocols and resolution of advice and consent move next to consideration by the full Senate.

“I appreciate the committee’s passage of the accession protocols for Finland and Sweden to join NATO. It has never been so important to strengthen the NATO alliance. Finland and Sweden have significant military capabilities and will be a welcome addition to the alliance. I hope my colleagues in the senate move quickly to pass this resolution through the Senate,” said Sen. Johnson.
