“I’m so glad that Governor Evers finally recognized the importance of and his ability to spend American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds for the Kenosha Invocation Neighborhood (KIN) in an election year. It’s great news.

“It’s such a great idea, that Representative Samantha Kerkman (R-Salem Lakes) and I formally asked Governor Evers to do exactly this NINE MONTHS AGO. Imagine how much progress could have been made on this vital redevelopment project in the last 9 months. Of course, we know that Evers is typically slow to react to help Kenosha.

“The Kenosha Innovation Neighborhood will not only help Kenosha recover from 2020, but will help lay the groundwork for bridging gaps in training and opportunity, building the framework for a diverse regional economy.

“As Kenosha residents have unfortunately learned with Governor Evers, it’s better late than never. I look forward to the groundbreaking and grand opening of this economic catalyst for
southeast Wisconsin”
