MADISONWI — Wisconsin State Senator Eric Wimberger (R-Green Bay) issued the following statement regarding Governor Evers’ announcement that the state will receive $143 million in federal funding for drinking water and wastewater improvement projects:

“I am glad that Governor Evers agrees with the ideas that I presented in my PFAS legislation package that seek to provide solutions to PFAS contamination in Wisconsin.”

“However, the situation would not be as serious had the governor himself not contributed to the mess he seeks to clean up. By authorizing the spreading of PFAS-laden biosolids at over 100,000 parts per trillion on farmland throughout the state, including on 240 acres in my district just months ago, he has only exacerbated this problem.”
