The Dem-aligned Senate Majority PAC charges in a new TV ad that Johnson's family benefited from investments in China.
The group, which backs Dem U.S. Senate candidates, didn't immediately respond to a request for details on the buy.
The ad is based off a story in The Guardian about Bemis, which was founded by Johnson's father-in-law and is now run by his brother-in-law.
