Stevens Point, WI— Local small business owner and dedicated Portage County Board member, Scott Soik announces he will be seeking the support of his community members for election to the 71st State Assembly.
Scott has devoted his life to public service – being a Military Veteran, his years of community involvement, and his service on the Portage County Board. The time is NOW to bring Scott’s experience and knowledge to Madison to fight for what’s best for the 71st District.
Scott will always show up for his constituents, and will put the needs of the district first. “I know what it takes to run a successful business, run for office, and make meaningful change. It is time for me to bring that to Madison and deliver the dedicated service that the hardworking people of Portage County deserve”.
Scott will be focusing his attention on keeping taxes and government spending low – favoring policies that will prevent more inflation that is hurting our Central Wisconsin families.
Scott Soik grew up just outside Stevens Point where he lives in the Town of Linwood with his wife Bridget and two youngest sons Warren and Mason. Their oldest son enlisted in the Army last year. Scott served the United States Marine Corps from 1993-1997 and owns River Valley Specialized Machining. Scott served as Town of Linwood Board Supervisor from 2004-2006, Town of Linwood plan Commission 2004-2012, Town of Linwood Plan Commission Chairman 2017-2020, Portage County Board of Adjustment 2011-2017, St.Paul Lutheran School Board 2011-2017. Scott currently serves on the Portage County Board of Supervisors. The 71st State Assembly district includes Stevens Point and Eastern Portage County.
