Madison…Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) released the following statement after Senator Jerry Petrowski announced his retirement from the Wisconsin State Senate at the end of this term.

“I would like to thank Jerry for his tireless service to the 29th district and the state of Wisconsin. It’s been an honor to work with him over the years, and he will be missed in the capitol. There will have to be a new popcorn provider for the Senate.

“In his two decades of public service, he authored numerous pieces of legislation including protecting victims of domestic abuse, child abuse, and human trafficking, supporting veterans with an outreach and recovery program, and providing $5 million for Northcentral Health Care to address mental health reform. Jerry also led on designating ginseng as Wisconsin’s state herb.

“I have truly appreciated his friendship over the years in the legislature and wish him and his wife nothing but the best in this new chapter of life.”
