BELOIT – Today, State Representative Mark Spreitzer’s campaign for State Senate announced the endorsement of former State Senator Judy Robson.

“During his time in the State Assembly, Mark Spreitzer has been a champion for our democracy, a fighter for middle-class families, and an advocate for the people of the 45th Assembly District,” said Robson. “Mark’s commitment to service is clear, and he will do everything he can to best serve our district.”

“Mark’s work ethic has been clear since he served on the Beloit City Council, and it has been a major asset to have him working for us for the last 7 years in Madison,” said Robson. “I know what it takes to be successful in the State Senate, and I am confident that Mark will be an excellent State Senator for us.”

Former Senator Robson served as Senate Majority Leader in 2007 and retired in 2011 after 12 years as the State Senator for the 15th Senate District, which Spreitzer is running to serve. Prior to serving in the State Senate, Robson served from 1987-1999 in the Wisconsin State Assembly.

“I am honored to have the support of my good friend Judy Robson,” said Spreitzer.  “Judy’s wisdom and guidance during my time in the Assembly has been invaluable, and I appreciate her support for the Senate seat that she represented so well.”

Spreitzer is running to succeed Janis Ringhand as a Democrat in the 15th State Senate District. He was elected to the State Assembly in 2014. Since 2016, he has served in legislative leadership as the Democratic Caucus Chair. Spreitzer has been a legislative leader on issues such as conservation, local government, family farms, middle-class economic security, healthcare access, criminal justice reform, LGBTQ equality, and defending our democracy. The 15th State Senate district includes parts of Dane, Green, Jefferson, Rock, and Walworth counties
