The state Dem Party is launching a new TV ad that charges GOP guv candidate Rebecca Kleefisch is making the nation’s political division worse with her rhetoric.

The party said the ad will run on broadcast and cable TV in Milwaukee. The party said it’s a five-figure buy that more than doubles what Kleefisch spent on the first TV ad of her campaign. WisPolitics.com reported last week the campaign put $5,000 behind that spot, which knocks Dem Gov. Tony Evers on school closures.

The narrator opens the spot saying the country is “boiling in political division” before the ad plays clips of Kleefisch saying Republicans needed to “hire mercenaries” and asking a Winnebago County GOP event, “Are we ready? Knives out?” It then cites a report that Kleefisch wouldn’t rule out allowing lawmakers to overturn election results.

The narrator closes the ad, “Rebecca Kleefisch: Too radical, too divisive.”
