STEVENS POINT, Wis. — Today, the Wisconsin State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Milwaukee Police Association announced their respective endorsements of Sen. Patrick Testin for Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin.

The Fraternal Order of Police is the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, with more than 364,000 members in more than 2,100 lodges. The Wisconsin State Lodge is made up of more than 2,500 members in 22 lodges throughout the state. They are committed to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those they serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation.

The Milwaukee Police Association (MPA) was founded in 1909 as The Police Officer’s Protective Association of the City of Milwaukee and later became known as the Milwaukee Professional Policemen’s Protective Association. The MPA has continued the mission of its founders: to protect and advocate for the over 1,500 members of the Association. They provide representation during disciplinary investigations and critical incidents. They are the exclusive bargaining agent for sworn non-supervisory employees of the Milwaukee Police Department.

Following the announcement, Senate President Pro Tempore, State Senator, and candidate for Lieutenant Governor, Patrick Testin, released the following statement:
“The men and women of Wisconsin law enforcement put on their uniforms everyday to risk their lives protecting our communities, and it is critical that we have leaders in Madison that are fighting to get them the resources they desperately need to stop our skyrocketing crime rates. I am honored to receive the endorsements of the Wisconsin Fraternal Order of Police and the Milwaukee Police Association in my bid for Lieutenant Governor, and to all members of law enforcement in Wisconsin I pledge to stand with you and defend—not defund—those who protect our families everyday.”

Along with the endorsement, Ryan Windorff, the President of the Wisconsin State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police added:
“Patrick Testin has proven to be a strong proponent of public safety and a partner to law enforcement in the State Senate. Law enforcement in Wisconsin needs the support of our elected leaders in order to be effective in reversing the disturbing crime trends we are experiencing in our state. Patrick had demonstrated that he will stand with the brave men and women of law enforcement and work to address the complex issues important to our profession and the safety of our communities. The Wisconsin Fraternal Order of Police is proud to endorse Patrick to be Wisconsin’s next Lieutenant Governor.”

Andrew Wagner, the acting President of the Milwaukee Police Association added:
“Patrick Testin has proven during his time in the State Senate that he will always back the badge and be a leading voice for the needs of Milwaukee Police and law enforcement personnel across Wisconsin. Now, more than ever, the men and women of the Milwaukee Police Association need strong leaders in Madison that will defend, support, and fight for the resources that Milwaukee law enforcement desperately need: one of those people is Sen. Patrick Testin. That’s why the Milwaukee Police Association is proud to endorse Patrick Testin to be Wisconsin’s next Lieutenant Governor.”
