SUN PRAIRIE, WI (March 1, 2022) — The Goddard School®, the nation’s leading premier early childhood education franchise, has opened a location in Sun Prairie. The nationally acclaimed childcare provider’s expansion into Sun Prairie marks the second location in the Greater Madison area and fourth in the state. The Goddard School of Sun Prairie offers more parents in the community peace of mind knowing they have another option for their children to safely return to the classroom in a nurturing environment. As childcare and early childhood education continues to play a pivotal role in the lives of parents and their young children, the school is now enrolling children ages six weeks to six years old.
Located at 2550 Jenny Wren Trail, The Goddard School offers a play-based learning experience using the most current, academically endorsed methods in early childhood education so children can explore, learn and discover through many different subjects and enrichment classes. From learning how to communicate with sign language and using problem-solving skills while playing chess, Goddard helps children develop interests and use their imagination.
The Goddard School’s curriculum on social-emotional development also educates children on how to be kind to themselves and others, further helping students become school ready, career ready and life ready. Students at The Goddard School of Sun Prairie will experience Life Lesson Library, The Goddard School’s targeted curriculum built around great works of children’s literature focusing on social and emotional learning. Books featured in Life Lesson Library were carefully curated by early childhood education experts and Goddard teachers and feature relatable characters and stories used to authentically teach and connect with children.
On-site owner Katie Neuman spent 15 years in teaching and educational leadership in the K-12 space, which provided her with a keen understanding of academic and social-emotional development in children of all ages. She saw academic excellence in action at The Goddard School of Verona, where her young children attended. Neuman is now partnering with Salman Ahmad and his wife, Mawara Sohail, owners of The Goddard School of Verona, to provide the highest quality preschool experience to children in the community.
“Not only was I very impressed with the academic focus on core essentials critical to early childhood development such as communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking at The Goddard School, I was equally impressed with the highly trained teachers and staff,” said Neuman. “My children were able to spend some of the most critical years of their childhood in a safe and nurturing atmosphere where they were gently guided and encouraged every step of the way as they grew, developed and achieved important milestones as little humans — I’m honored to bring these high standards of educational excellence and childhood development to the families of Sun Prairie.”
Neuman and her faculty remain committed to ensuring a safe, high quality learning experience and have implemented health and safety protocols such as health checks before entry, virtual tours, professional cleanings each night and the latest sanitization technologies. In addition to the heightened health and safety protocols Goddard Schools across the country have implemented since the start of the pandemic, this new location is utilizing an HVAC system with built in ionization and sanitization.
Neuman added, “We’re committed to ensuring the safety of our families and staff amid these trying times. Along with all early childhood educators, we’ve altered our school’s health and safety guidelines to ensure our students can continue to learn in a safe environment.”
With more than 11,500 square feet, the Goddard School in Sun Prairie has space for 152 children and is adding 26 teaching jobs in the area. This new location features two outdoor playgrounds and learning spaces as well as a large multi-purpose room for additional physical activity.
