MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Today, Fond du Lac County District Attorney and law enforcement’s choice for Attorney General, Eric Toney, held a press conference back where he started his campaign in April 2021 – at the Jewels Caribbean Restaurant in Milwaukee. Toney addressed the backlog on Kaul’s internet child sex predator referrals and said that the people of Wisconsin will hold Kaul accountable at the ballot box in November for his failures.
Eric Toney released the following statement:
“If Josh Kaul truly cared about families, he wouldn’t have allowed a backlog of over 1,000 internet child sex predator referrals – endangering Wisconsin’s children. The job of the Attorney General is to enforce the rule of law. Josh Kaul picks and chooses which laws to enforce based on his personal political beliefs.”
Toney also announced the completion of his 72-County Tour as Republican, Democrat and Independent law enforcement officials from around the state have endorsed his campaign.
Washington County Executive Josh Schoemann said:
“It’s an absolute privilege to have Eric representing all of Wisconsin. That’s exactly what we need from the top,” he said. “We stand here together excited to see [Eric] get elected and doing everything we can to put him into office to really change that tone – putting that prosecutor in place, and not a politician. It’s about time and we look forward to it on November 8th.”Toney added:
“Together, in November, we will elect an Attorney General that will enforce the rule of law – not just when they agree with it. Wisconsin will have a prosecutor and not a politician as our top cop.”Toney was joined at today’s press conference by:
