FOND DU LAC, Wis. – Today, the legislature approved the allocation of funds from an opioid settlement with bipartisan support – including redirecting $3 million to assist law enforcement – after working diligently with partners from across the state.

Fond du Lac County District Attorney and law enforcement’s choice for Attorney General, Eric Toney, released the following statement:“Thank you to all of our Wisconsin legislators who worked diligently to improve the allocation of funds from the opioid settlement – working side-by-side with partners across Wisconsin. While Tony Evers and Josh Kaul played politics with the settlement, members of our legislature worked to ensure these funds benefit all of Wisconsin including assisting law enforcement in carrying out their duties.”

District Attorney Eric Toney is endorsed by over 100 Sheriffs, District Attorneys, and Police Chiefs, and has been unanimously endorsed by the Wisconsin Fraternal Order of Police State Lodge, the Milwaukee Police Association, the Racine Police Association, and the Milwaukee Police Supervisors Organization.
