WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) today published a virtual tour of the U.S. Capitol building for students, educators, and families in Northeast Wisconsin who are unable to visit the Capitol building in person due to its continued closure to the public. Despite the fact that most of the country — and most tourist destinations in D.C. — are open to the public, Speaker Pelosi has kept the Capitol closed to visitors for nearly two years.
“Tours of the Capitol allow Americans to see their government in action and learn about their country’s history and see their government in action. Unfortunately, by keeping the Capitol closed, Speaker Pelosi is depriving every school group and family of this opportunity,” said Rep. Gallagher. “There is no logical reason to keep the American people out of the People’s House. But until we change these misguided policies, I hope this virtual tour experience serves as a small way to give Northeast Wisconsinites a better understanding of their Capitol building.”
The virtual tour includes the stops constituents see when they visit the Capitol for a tour, such as:
  • Rep. Gallagher’s Office
  • Capitol Visitors Center
  • Capitol Crypt
  • Capitol Rotunda and its artwork
  • National Statuary Hall
  • Wisconsin’s two statues in the Capitol
