Rep. Mike Gallagher (R-WI) joined Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures to discuss Dr. Fauci’s coverup of the origins of the COVID-19 and steps the U.S. military needs to take to defend Taiwan.
On efforts to coverup the lab-leak hypothesis:
“What we now know is that on January 27, Dr. Fauci was affirmatively told that his organization, NIAID, was funneling money to the Wuhan Institute of Virology through the EcoHealth Alliance. This then started a critical five day period where a group of scientists went to Fauci and to Dr. Collins, and told them that the virus looked like it was genetically modified, and that some of them were 60/40, 70/30, in favor of the lab leak hypothesis as opposed to the natural origin hypothesis. Fauci then convenes a call with Collins and all these scientists, and then 48 hours later, all of these scientists — which had just flagged concerns about this virus not being of natural origin — then went and completely changed their tune. And they spent the next few months throwing cold water on the lab leak hypothesis. So Maria, the multi-trillion dollar question is what changed in 48 hours? The genetic sequence of the virus didn’t change. What did Fauci and Collins tell them?”
On Biden shortchanging the Department of Defense:
“The Biden administration is obsessed with their multi-trillion dollar transformative, progressive, domestic agenda. The last budget they submitted for defense was a real term cut and next year’s budget is going to be worse. They want to cut hard power while investing in progressive projects at home. All of that is messing up the balance of power in the Indo-Pacific. And our priority force in that theater, the Navy, is being particularly hit hard.”
