Mike Gallagher (R-WI), a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and House Armed Services Committee, today released the following statement on President Biden’s 60 Minutes interview, where he committed the U.S. to defending Taiwan against a CCP invasion for the fourth time.
“For the fourth time since entering office, President Biden has made clear that the United States would defend Taiwan with military force. The time for debates over semantics, minutia, and ambiguity is over. The time for action that places hard power between Xi and Taiwan is here. The clock is ticking and the President must work with Congress to arm Taiwan to the teeth, pour concrete for expanded munitions production capacity, and surge American combat power to the Indo-Pacific before it is too late.”
