La Crosse, WI – Today, Rep. Ron Kind announced that he joined colleagues on both sides of the aisle in asking the Administration to take further action to support American farmers’ ability to compete fairly in global markets by strengthening exports.

“Export supply chain challenges have caused difficulties for our farmers here in Wisconsin as they continue to work to feed and fuel the world,” said Rep. Ron Kind. “We need to take action to address this critical issue, and I look forward to working alongside the Administration to find solutions and provide relief to our hardworking agricultural producers.”

In the letter, the lawmakers called for actions including:

  • Providing exporters with better access to shipping and logistics equipment
  • Incentivizing foreign shipping companies to fill containers with U.S. exports
  • Temporarily suspending regulations on vehicle weight limits for truckers hauling shipping containers
