Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Ron Kind released the following statement on his vote to find Daniel Scavino, Jr. and Peter Navarro in contempt of Congress for failing to comply with subpoenas issued by the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the United States Capitol:

“Mr. Scavino and Mr. Navarro have a legal obligation to comply with Congressional subpoenas issued by the bipartisan Select Committee. Unfortunately, they have so far refused, obstructing the Committee’s fact-finding mission and denying the American people the answers they deserve on how a violent attack on our Capitol and our democracy occurred. No one is above the law – today I voted to hold Mr. Scavino and Mr. Navarro in contempt of Congress.”

In 2021, Rep. Kind voted to hold both Steve Bannon and Mark Meadows in contempt of Congress for ignoring a subpoena from the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the United States Capitol.
