Washington, DC – Tonight, Rep. Ron Kind voted to provide additional emergency funding to support the Ukrainian people and defend global democracy in the wake of Putin’s unjust attack.

“The United States is ironclad in our support for Ukraine as they continue to fight for their country and democracy,” said Rep. Ron Kind. “That means not only helping provide Ukraine with the resources they need to defend themselves but also delivering humanitarian aid to Ukrainians whose lives have been uprooted by Putin’s unprovoked attack. This bipartisan package will do just that as we work to hold Putin accountable, protect global democracy, and support the Ukrainian people in their time of need.”

The bipartisan Additional Ukraine Supplemental Appropriations Act provides over $40 billion in funding to help Ukraine defend itself and protect its democracy, hold Russian leaders accountable, address rapidly growing food insecurity globally because of the conflict in Ukraine, and provide critical refugee support services.
