WASHINGTON, DC— Today, Congressman Bryan Steil (WI-01) wrote U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Chris Magnus expressing frustration at the agencies’ failure to fulfill their mission and protect the U.S. southern border.

“Our border is not secure. We have a humanitarian crisis and a drug trafficking crisis along our border. In order to keep our communities safe, we need to ensure DHS and CBP are fulfilling their mission. Steil was joined by Reps. Tim Walberg, Maria Salazar, Pete Stauber, Doug Lamborn, Dan Meuser, Richard Hudson, Ben Cline, Tracey Mann, and John Moolenaar,
