WAUKESHA, WI – Congressman Bryan Steil (WI-01) presented Wisconsin’s First District Health Care Hero Award to Sherry Berg, BSN at Waukesha Memorial Hospital for her dedication to caring for others in the community. 

“Sherry’s dedication and commitment to serving others is incredibly prevalent in her work at Waukesha Memorial Hospital and her service to our community. During the horrific attack at the Waukesha Christmas Parade, Sherry sprung into action and was on one of the first ambulances to the emergency room that night caring for many of the victims that day. I am honored to recognize and thank Sherry for her efforts and selflessness in serving our community.”

Background: 

Recipients of this award were nominated by local Wisconsin citizens and selected by Wisconsin’s First Congressional District’s Health Care Advisory Board.  The Health Care Advisory Board is comprised of health care professionals across Southeast Wisconsin. The Health Care Advisory Board evaluated nominees on the following criteria:

  • SERVICE: Displays exemplary service and performance in their profession
  • DEDICATION: Goes above and beyond the call of duty in performing their responsibilities
  • SELFLESSNESS: Displays self-sacrifice and selflessness in caring for others
