WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Tom Tiffany (WI-07) introduced legislation that would prohibit the Biden administration from using taxpayer funds to appeal the decision issued by the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida determining that the mask mandate on public transportation is unlawful.

Following the Federal court ruling out of Florida, masks are now optional for travelers on public transportation and airplanes; however, the Biden administration has already announced their decision to appeal the ruling.

“Taxpayers shouldn’t be forced to finance President Biden’s endless campaign of virtue signaling to satisfy his political base,” said Tiffany. “This sad saga of bureaucratic overreach has gone on for far too long.”

“Hardworking Americans and small businesses that have been struggling under the weight of this illegal mandate responded to last week’s court ruling with a deep sigh of relief. They want to get back to normal, and the Biden administration shouldn’t stand in their way,” Tiffany concluded. “People should be free to choose whether they want to wear a mask or not.”
