DANE COUNTY – On Friday, U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin toured Midwest Prototyping in Blue Mounds to discuss supporting Made in America manufacturers and Rebalanced-Life Wellness Association Men’s Health & Education Center to discuss closing healthcare disparities in the black community. Senator Baldwin also joined Free Bikes 4 Kids to celebrate Madison Bike Week.

Senator Baldwin travelled to Midwest Prototyping in Blue Mounds to continue the conversation about supporting Made in America equipment manufacturers. Midwest Prototyping primarily makes parts out of about 40 different materials using six different types of 3D printers. Its customers include product development firms and the automotive, motorsports and aviation industries, among others.

Senator Baldwin has been a strong supporter of the 2.8 million people of the U.S. equipment manufacturing industry throughout her career and has built an impressive record of working across the aisle to champion policies that help the industry to grow and succeed in Wisconsin and across the country. During the visit, Baldwin met with Midwest Prototyping employees and provided an update on the conference committee’s progress on the Bipartisan Innovation Act, which would improve America’s global competitiveness by investing in innovation, protecting and creating equipment manufacturing jobs in Wisconsin, strengthening supply chains, and lowering costs.

“I am working to pass the Bipartisan Innovation Act because it provides a strong federal investment that will strengthen our domestic manufacturing supply chain and bring jobs back to America. Working together with Wisconsin manufacturers like Midwest Prototyping, we are going to get the job done on this legislation to support businesses and workers who are building a Made in America economy,” said Senator Baldwin.

Senator Baldwin then toured Rebalanced-Life Wellness Association (RLWA) Men’s Health & Education Center and Perry Family Free Clinic in Madison. The RLWA opened the nation’s first Men’s Health & Education Center to eliminate health disparities and bring preventative healthcare to men of color from a location that they trust and respect, Madison’s largest black barbershop JP Hair Design. JP Hair Design is also connected to the Perry Family Free Clinic, which provides quality healthcare for uninsured and under-insured Black men and all who are impacted by disparities in healthcare. RLWA also hosts a COVID-19 vaccination clinic funded by a $100,000 Vaccination Community Outreach (VCO) Grant through the American Rescue Plan, which Baldwin supported.
