OSHKOSH– On Monday, U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) released the following statement commemorating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day:

“From a jail cell, the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. wrote, ‘we will win our freedom because the sacred heritage of our nation and the eternal will of God are embodied in our echoing demands.’ Today, as we commemorate his words and sacrifice, let us focus on what unifies us, rather than what divides us. Our fight for freedom will never end, but if we follow Dr. King’s example of non-violence, we can heal the nation we love and preserve it for posterity.”
