PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, WI – Today, the Wisconsin Dairy Alliance announced their endorsement of Derrick Van Orden for Congress in Wisconsin’s 3rd District at an event in Cashton, WI. Derrick has demonstrated throughout his campaign that he is committed to working on behalf of Wisconsin farmers, and is solely focused on representing the 3rd District’s agriculture community on the Agriculture Committee in Congress.
Kim Bremmer from the Wisconsin Dairy Alliance, released the following statement accompanying the endorsement of Derrick:
“Venture Dairy Cooperative and Wisconsin Dairy Alliance are proud to endorse Derrick Van Orden for Wisconsin’s 3rd Congressional District. Derrick has made it clear that he will be a champion for Wisconsin’s dairy farmers in his role in Washington D.C. Derrick Van Orden has demonstrated his commitment to being a leader on agricultural issues and clearly understands the impact of dairy, not only to Wisconsin’s economy, but its heritage. Wisconsin’s dairy farmers cannot afford to elect his opponent. His opponent pushed for reforms as head of DATCP that would have put dairy farmers out of business, or pushed them out of state. If our farmers leave so do our cheese processors and countless jobs. We need representatives in Congress who support Wisconsin’s dairy farmers, our industry and our dedicated employees. We need a battle-tested leader with the right priorities on agriculture. We need Derrick Van Orden.”
Derrick Van Orden released the following statement thanking the Tavern League for their endorsement
“Wisconsin is America’s Dairyland and they deserve a representative in Washington that will work as hard as they do every day. Since my opponent started his career as a politician and bureaucrat almost three decades ago, more than 75% of the family farms in this state have closed. That is unacceptable, and as your next representative, I will work for policies that reduce input costs, increase trade opportunities, and promote our awesome dairy farmers around the world.”
