Event proceeds will benefit Baker’s foundation for addiction recovery
WAUKESHA, WIS. – Aug. 10, 2022 – Milwaukee Bucks Assistant Coach and Former NBA All-Star Vin Baker will host a brunch followed by golf on August 29 at The Legend at Merrill Hills in Waukesha. This event is presented by baby gear company, Nuna, and proceeds will benefit the Vin Baker “Bouncing Back” Foundation as it works to diminish the impact of alcoholism and addiction.
Tickets are available now at bouncingbackfoundation.org in foursome packs, twosome packs, individual golfers, or brunch-only. Baker will be golfing at the event, and during brunch, he will share his own story of addiction and how he was able to overcome his struggles.
Baker is one of the NBA’s most unique and inspiring redemption stories. He was the Milwaukee Bucks’ first-round draft pick in 1993 and went on to win Olympic Gold in 2000, but alcoholism and addiction derailed his career. 11 years sober, Baker has been a leader in efforts to treat, educate, and motivate those who are most endangered by addiction. Baker’s mission of combatting substance use disorder and lifting the stigmas around addiction ensures that treatment reaches all people suffering from addiction fairly and with dignity.
“I’m excited to help make a difference in my community,” said Baker. “I hope this event can bring some great memories and also work towards making a positive impact in people’s lives.”
The event will feature a 10:30 a.m. brunch and program with golf to follow. Event proceeds, including support from corporate sponsors like Nuna, will help improve the lives of individuals, families, and communities affected by alcohol and drug addiction and dependency.
“Nuna is proud to sponsor this event,” said Brad Bickley, Nuna Global President. “Vin Baker’s life comeback example and his passion to help others in need is truly remarkable.”
