(West Bend, WI) – County Executive Josh Schoemann is announcing the celebration of the new Parks and Trails Endowment and the Washington County Golf Course’s 25th Anniversary Silver Jubilee.

“Fiscal trends have highlighted the need to find innovative ways to achieve financial independence and fiscal sustainability for our Parks Division,” said Schoemann. “Our goal is to make our County Parks System operations independent of the property tax levy. We are pleased to announce the creation of an endowment fund to be used, in perpetuity, for parks, trails, and golf.”

He will recognize the project contributors and be joined by the following speakers:

  • Claire Rolfs – representing the Thomas J. Rolfs Family Foundation
  • Peter Ziegler – representing the West Bend Community Foundation and Washington County Parks and Trails Endowment Fund
  • Dave Jahnke – Washington County Golf Course (WCGC) Superintendent
  • Craig Czerniejewski – Head PGA Professional and Clubhouse Supervisor at WCGC

  • Recognition of the legacy of private donors and welcoming of new benefactors to the Parks, Trails and Golf families;
  • An overview of the new details of the new Community Endowment Fund whose annual distributions will build parks, trails and golf course improvements in perpetuity;
  • Special recognition of contributors to the Washington County Golf Course’s success
