Do you live in the City of Waukesha?

Are you interested in participating in a hands-on program to learn more about your city government and civic engagement opportunities?

If you answered “yes” to both questions, consider applying for the Waukesha Local Government Academy.

In this program you will:

  • Learn more about your city government.
  • Widen your network of relationships with city staff, departments, boards, and decision makers.
  • Develop local government leadership skills
  • Identify opportunities to apply your leadership skills in city government.

There will be a total of seven sessions with each session lasting 2.5 hours (5:30– 8 pm – dinner provided), two per month beginning in September of 2022 and wrapping up on December 1st. Each session will have a pertinent topic related to city government along with a guest speaker. There is no fee to participate but you must apply and make the commitment to attend 6 of the 7 sessions to receive the local government certificate of completion. Applications due July 1st.  Space is limited to 20. Academy sessions will be held at Waukesha City Hall.
