Fond du Lac, WI – Today, Wisconsin Dairy Alliance (WDA) and Venture Dairy Cooperative (VDC) joined Tim Michels, candidate for Wisconsin’s Governor, to tour a member’s state-of-the-art dairy farm, Vir-Clar Farm. Here these groups announced their endorsement of Tim Michels for Governor.
“Tim Michels is the farmers’ choice for Wisconsin Governor. He understands that Wisconsin is known as the “Dairy State” and our dairy farmers work extremely hard to ensure consumers receive nutritious and safe milk, cheese, and butter products throughout the world. We need a new Governor who understands the importance of getting government out of the way of innovation by streamlining regulation and cutting unnecessary red tape. Tony Evers tried to implement billions of dollars in new regulations on farmers and thanks in part to his policies, in the last several years there have been no new farms created from green space. Michels understands the monumental impact dairy has on the state’s economy and will work hard to reverse course on the anti-farming agenda of Tony Evers,” said Cindy Leitner, President of Wisconsin Dairy Alliance.

Farmers don’t have time to constantly play defense at our state agencies. We know Tim Michels as Governor understands our business, values farmers, and will rein in the out-of-control state agencies. Tim Michels will face current Governor Tony Evers this November 8th.
