Greenbush, WI – Wade House, one of the Wisconsin Historical Society’s historic sites and museums, will reopen for the season on Saturday, May 28, 2022. The full site including the visitor’s center, state-of-the-art Wesley W. Jung Carriage Museum and the site’s namesake 1850s stagecoach hotel will be accessible to guests as part of the general admission experience through the end of the regular season concluding on October 30, 2022. General admission and special experience tickets are available for sale online and Wade House will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

“The era of stagecoach travel lives on at Wade House historic site, and visitors this season will be immersed in history by exploring sensory-rich spaces, stories and activities for the whole family,” said Alli Karrels, site director. “Wade House gives visitors an opportunity to look back in time to the days when the hotel was a bustling hub for travelers before planes, cars and railroads helped people get around.”

General admission includes a horse-drawn wagon ride and engaging activities at points of interest throughout the grounds such as the sawmill and the Wade House kitchen.

In addition to the daily general admission experience, Wade House will offer an exciting lineup of special experiences and ticketed events this season. For opening weekend on May 28-29, 2022, Animal Adventures features opportunities to interact with and learn about horses, sheep and other creatures on site with special presentations by the Marsh Haven Nature Center and the Sheboygan Humane Society.

Wade House also offers a variety of dates for its hands-on Blacksmithing Workshops and Family Blacksmithing Workshops this season. On select weekends, general admission includes the Tasting History series featuring opportunities for guests to try their hand making a special treat the old-fashioned way. A new food or beverage will be featured each weekend.
