MADISON – As families are struggling with historic inflation and skyrocketing gas prices, Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) – through its affiliate, WMC Issues Mobilization Council – is calling attention to how much higher prices would be if Gov. Tony Evers had his way.
In a new television ad, WMC informs Wisconsinites about Tony Evers’ poor economic record as governor. The 30-second spot begins with news clips explaining that inflation is at its highest point in nearly 40 years and that gas prices are surging.
“But, Tony Evers wants even more of your money,” the narrator says in the ad. “Evers pushed to double the energy tax that would increase your heating and electric bills. He tried to make us pay even more at the pump by hiking the gas tax. And, Evers wanted to tax manufacturing jobs, hurting workers’ paychecks.”
The ad began airing on broadcast television this week, and it is part of a significant investment by WMC Issues Mobilization Council to educate Wisconsinites on issues important to our state’s economic competitiveness.
