Madison, Wisconsin: The Wisconsin Troopers Association (WTA) announced its support for Eric Toney for Attorney General.
“Eric Toney shares our common law enforcement and public safety goals,” stated WTA Executive Director Matt Johnson. “His experience in leading his office as district attorney, along with his broad-based prosecution knowledge uniquely positions Eric Toney to be the best candidate for Wisconsin’s next Attorney General.”
Members of the WTA serve as troopers and inspectors who can mobilize in emergency situations to cover every corner of the state. The men and women of the patrol work to apprehend drug dealers, provide crime scene analysis and crash reconstruction, in addition to highway patrol and weigh station enforcement.
“Eric Toney has prioritized developing relationships with law enforcement officers,” continued Johnson. “He understands and values the risk that men and women in law enforcement must face every day and will work with us to improve safety for our members and each citizen that lives, works and travels our state.”
The WTA strongly supports candidates who work to maintain high standards in state law enforcement, who understand the value of a statewide police force, and who prioritize reducing crime and increasing public safety.
“We need to recognize and value candidates who prioritize reducing crime and increasing public safety,” added Johnson. “From his commitment to reducing overall crime to his dedication to OWI enforcement and reckless driving initiatives, Eric Toney will work with us to improve safety in Wisconsin.”
