MADISON, Wis. – In a straw poll at a meeting of the 3rd Congressional District GOP caucus in Onalaska over the weekend, Kevin Nicholson almost came in dead last — losing to Tim Ramthun by 40 votes.

Nicholson must be embarrassed, not only losing to Tim, but also nearly getting beat by a completely unknown candidate, Adam Fischer. And it seems especially embarrassing when a candidate as self-important as Nicholson loses to Tim Ramthun (#TimTime) and his dangerous 2020 election decertification platform.

While straw polls aren’t always an indication of the temperature statewide, the Republican Party of Wisconsin also dealt Nicholson a blow this weekend, when one of their leaders  rejected Nicholson’s proposal to have the state party not endorse in the GOP gubernatorial primary.

“Kevin Nicholson losing to Tim Ramthun not only speaks to how hyper-focused the GOP base is on illegally decertifying the 2020 election, but frankly, it’s also a huge embarrassment for Nicholson,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Rapid Response Director Hannah Menchhoff. “Nicholson really wants you to think that his message is resonating with Republicans, but clearly — at least in the 3rd district— it’s not.”
